Testosterone Nasal Gel

Endogenous testosterone is produced by testicular, ovarian, and adrenal cortical cells. Testosterone is the major androgen found in the human body. The treatment of hypogonadism, whether congenital or acquired, entails the use of testosterone. The best exogenous androgen for palliative treatment in postmenopausal women with breast cancer is testosterone. The FDA approved testosterone’s usage in 1938, and its first use occurred in 1939. Anabolic steroids, which are testosterone derivatives, are currently regarded as controlled substances as a result of their historical illicit use. Along with a number of anabolic steroids, testosterone was classified as a prohibited substance in 1991. The testosterone cream, known as AndroGel, was created by Uniumed Pharmaceuticals in the US and received FDA approval in 2000 for the treatment of hypogonadism, which is characterized by a lack of testosterone and frequently results in a range of symptoms, from mood and energy issues to sexual dysfunctions. It is also used to treat a number of injury-related conditions, such as those that affect people who have suffered severe burns or accidents. AndroGel, a very popular form of testosterone, is sold all over the world under a few less well-known brand/trade names, most notably Testogel (made in the UK by Laboratoires Besins and distributed by Bayer), Testim (made in the U.S. by Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.), and various generic versions frequently marketed as testosterone cream or gel.

The transdermal delivery system of testosterone gel targets the same, or at least very similar bodily regions as injections and other forms of testosterone. More specifically, maximum absorption of testosterone gel is achieved when (as with injectable testosterone) it’s administered to densely muscled bodily regions. Since greater amounts of muscle at the point of application equates to a higher number of testosterone absorbing capillaries, testosterone can be more rapidly shuttled into the bloodstream.
